Meet Kindra Mann, ARDELL’S Beauty of the Week. Kindra is Creative, Handy, a Sugar Enthusiast and is sharing her beauty secrets with us!

Tell us about yourself?
KM:
I’m a makeup artist originally from Washington State. I moved to Los Angeles at nineteen to go to makeup school and have been living in Los Angeles for the last 20 years. I love going to the beach, traveling to new places, and spending time with my boyfriend and our two dogs. Pretty simple stuff.
AR:
Describe your earliest beauty memory.
KM:
For makeup, it was going to a store called Shopko and buying Wet-N-Wild makeup and Covergirl and giving my girlfriends makeovers in my bedroom growing up. When I was little, my brother and I used to take this popcorn bowl and we would wrap our hair in perm rods and place the bowl on our heads and pretend we were in a beauty salon. I think I have a pic :)
AR:
Who had the biggest beauty influence on you growing up?
KM:
I loved flipping through magazines and getting inspiration. Neither of my sisters wore much makeup or my mom, so magazines and movies were great inspiration. I loved that makeup and hair color could transform you into someone entirely different. So, I loved seeing the actress and models change their looks for movies or fashion spreads. My sister used to plaster cutouts of magazines all over our bedroom closet doors like a giant collage and I loved it.
AR:
What is something that you no longer believe about beauty that you once did?
KM:
That you need to wear as much makeup.

How do you define beauty today?
KM:
I define beauty as making yourself as comfortable in your own skin as you possibly can. I think beauty comes from embracing what makes you uniquely you, and kindness helps. It always makes someone more beautiful.
AR:
Do you have any favorite beauty practices that you swear by?
KM:
I do!! Always wash your face :)

When do you feel most beautiful?
KM:
When I’m taking time for self-care, like going for a long run. I feel strong and like I can conquer anything, and I think that’s beautiful. Or when I take some extra time to get ready for the day.
AR:
What’s your go-to makeup or skin care routine?
KM:
I’m a product junkie so I switch it up all the time. Some products I’m loving are Saint Jane luxury CBD oil, and I love trying out new formulas for makeup. If I’m not working, I probably won’t put on any makeup for the day, just skincare.
AR:
What is your favorite beauty trend right now?
KM:
Clean skin and less makeup. I’m so glad we are moving away from the heavy “baking” trends
AR:
What is the best beauty tip you’ve ever discovered?
KM:
Not sure it’s a tip or not but it falls in the beauty sector I guess. I love the Essie Gel effects nail polish. I love to have my nails painted and this formula last at least two weeks but can be easily removed at home, so that’s something you will always probably see on me.
AR:
Do you listen to music when you get ready? If so, who is on your playlist?
KM:
I don’t usually listen to music, but I often catch up on Marco Polo, the app, with my friends from back home – Lynn and Natalie or my sisters. We talk on it all day.
AR:
What would someone never guess about you?
KM:
Hopefully my age...just kidding. Maybe that I don’t eat red meat and haven’t since I was about 12. Or the fact that I’m super handy and can tackle pretty much any home improvement project.
AR:
What's next for you?
KM:
Work wise hopefully more travel and growth in my career. Personally, I have a big birthday coming up on Halloween so just enjoying it with loved ones.

In addition to making people feel beautiful, how do you like to spend your free time?
KM:
I love being outside or at the beach with my boyfriend and our dogs. I’m a big baker…not much of a cook but I can make some pretty epic desserts.
AR:
What is one of your favorite inspirational quotes?
KM:
One of my favorite sayings that I think is really powerful in life is “You don’t always get to tell your side of the story, but time will.” I love this because it’s so true. When life can be frustrating or discouraging it’s a good reminder to take a step back and stay true to who you are and let things fall where they might.

AR:
What are your favorite ARDELL lash styles? Why?
KM:
Always and forever short individuals because you can build any type of lash you can imagine with them. 110 and 172 for a natural strip and any of the Naked lash collection
AR:
What keeps you coming back to ARDELL lashes?
KM:
They are just the best. I think they are more natural and if they have a band, it’s usually lighter and easy to use.
AR:
What is the trick for the perfect ARDELL lash application?
KM:
Letting the lash glue get sticky and trying the size on before to make sure it fit the eye shape correctly.
